This is our summer bike program to engage the community in the outdoors, fitness, and healthy foods on Tuesdays.  Turn off the TV and put away the cell phone and video games and bring the family, camping chairs, cow bells, and have a great time with us at Twilight !

The Twilight series is a model from Carlos Perez, a bike enthusiast/promoter, founder of bikemonkey.net (http://www NULL.bikemonkey NULL.net/), and inspiration to the summer bike races at Howarth Park in Santa Rosa.

We welcome beginners, intermediate, and expert riders.  Medals will be awarded to 1-3 places of each category by age groups of under 18 y.o., 19-29 y.o., up to 50+ . Time results to be posted online. There’s a little tikes course for up to 6 y.o. and it’s free.  Goodie bag for little tikes too.

Twilight Series – Part 1 ( Jun 21 / Jun 28 / Jul 5 / Jul /12 )

Located in Grass Valley, trails are at Condon Park and Lyman-Gilmore School property, nestled under pine and oak trees.  Each race date will be a different course.  This is a perfect venue for beginners just testing their skills.  Each race builds upon each other, a little more challenging and fun.

Twilight Series – Part 2 ( Jul 19 / Jul 26 / Aug 2 / Aug 9 )

Trails are on F.S. lands just a 10 minute drive from downtown Nevada City, just off HWY 20 and Conservation Road.  Each race date will be a different course.   Each race builds upon each other with more elevation gain, switchbacks, etc.

We are asking everyone to abide to the U.S.F.S. “Pack It In – Pack It Out” rule at BOTH venues  This is our first time doing a summer series of 8 races, and would like to continue hosting such venues in the future with public and private land owners (as well as respecting our Mother Earth!).

3pm each Tuesday registration opens.  All riders must register, complete waivers, and have a helmet prior to pre-riding course.    Keep your race plate number to the last race.  Sam day registration is an extra $5 – harder for you, harder for us, so please pre-register on-line.

If time/light permits, we hope to offer an optional Relay Race, no cost, just fun. The target is a 4 person team (subject to change!). Each team must have a person from Cat.  A, B, C, junior, and at least one female.

There will be music, food by Horn of the Bull Taqueria, and drinks starting at 5pm.

As a fundraiser, Nevada Union MTB Club will be doing Fender Blender Fruit Smoothies for $3, or 2 for $5.

Raffle drawings and awards after races.

After races, 5 Mile House is providing one FREE drink to go with dinner entre.

Health and Nutrition kiosk by Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.
